+ The fact that the Hotel is built inside the old fort. You get to stay at an historical landmark while getting access to visit a bunch of rooms. + The pool is pretty impressive. + The room was modern. Bathroom was spacious. + Everything was clean.

Centrally located in Chaves within walking distance of the centre. Beautiful hotel with comfortable well appointed rooms. We had a problem with one of our motorbikes and one of the hotel staff (a lovely lady whose name I didn’t get im embarrassed to say) went out of our way to help us such that the problem was resolved and we were able to continue our trip.

This is simple. Great hotel. Bedroom very good for us. Have been to this hotel many times. Pool is great when weather is good. View from pool is amazing. Breakfast was first class. Evening meal was first class. The hotel is full of character and history. We will be back.

This is one of the loveliest hotels we've ever stayed in. It has so much character. The antique furniture in our part of the hotel was beautiful. The room we stayed in was spacious and spotlessly clean. Loved the bath and/or shower option. The staff, without exception, were charming and helpful. Breakfasts were a treat and qualty of food was so good. Pool was great and had nice snack bar.

What wasn't to like. A magnificent setting for a hotel, and a good base to explore Chaves and the surrounding area. We ate in the restaurant one evening (you have to book at reception), there weren't many other there but the food was excellent. As with other hotels breakfast is buffet style and the staff ensure that the food is refreshed on a regular basis. An interesting building in its own right.

Top notch, spectacular, tasteful restoration of a religious monastery. Beautiful decorations and artifacts. Unique and comfortable rooms. Superb swimming pool and views down over the town. Excellent breakfast. Amazing environment.

I had thought that I was reserving a room in a hotel near a historic fort, but the hotel IS IN the historic fort itself, with ramparts, cannon, etc., that is listed as a national monument. It was amazing! The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were both excellent, and the hotel is located near the town center, and is very accessible.

Fortress well restored & maintained, decor maximized with genuine pieces, the mixed styles trial with avant guard items reserves different acceptance for the final outcome. Service at the expected level. Breakfast regular as expected, outdoors are the master point, generous swimming pool toped with surrounding views.

Rooms we're spacious and well appointed, clearly a 4 star hotel with its facilities, pool, general quality of everything. Excellent offerings at breakfast. Our 2nd stay as a touring group and will return again.

My second visit here and I love this place. Great location - easy walking distance of the town and a really interesting hotel, with spectacular conversion from the old fort.
